Dear ÉJSMS Families,

Happy New Year!

John Stubbs is celebrating National Literacy Week with many wonderful literacy events planned for the week of January 20-24^th. One very popular event is the Book Swap. Rather than regular book exchanges taking place during that week, students will have the chance to choose a gently used book to take home and keep.

We have asked students to bring in gently used French or English books starting right away. Boxes are located in each classroom to collect these books. Please have your child(ren) search for books that they have enjoyed and would like to pass along to another student. Kindly send these books to the school as soon as possible.

Other events to look forward to include:

• Read-a-Thon (collect pledges for number of minutes read during the week to help purchase French resources for our library)
• Guest readers
• Author visits
• Buddy Reading
• Dress as your favourite book character day
• …and more

Further information, in addition to reading logs and pledge forms, will be sent home next week.
